Blog Awards and Memes

I received a blog award a while ago, and I’ve been buried at work, so had no time to deal with it.

The logo itself kind of drives me nuts, but it’s the thought that counts, and it only took me 10 minutes to wade through two weeks of email to remind me from whence it came (sorry, Beverly of Fiberhart). I have tried to explain often to people around me how crazy this time of year is, between trying to educate middle schoolers who are already on vacation mentally AND do all the regular holiday stuff, I think my brain goes into automatic survival mode and not much else.

ANYWAY.

Thanks to Beverly, and holy crap. I have to nominate people. I have to say that is the part I hate, because I really do (and I’ve said this before) read about 500 blogs, and it’s rare that I can pick a small number to recommend. I have recommended a few in the past, and there are some that I love to read because I think I’ve been reading them long enough to almost feel like I know the person (which is a little weird and creepy if I think about it too long), but I still can’t get down to 5. Sorry. Anyway, if you’re reading me on some sort of blog reader, go to the actual site and try some of the blogroll sites. They were mostly from quilt art sites in the beginning, and I don’t edit them often and I haven’t added any recently, but if you like quilt art, you might find one or two that interest you.

I don’t do memes. I don’t even READ memes. They drive me bonkers. I guess that makes me an antisocial wench, but I can’t help that.

I currently have two teenaged children confined to their rooms, no talking, both lost computer time tomorrow as a consequence for their behavior, and one is blasting classical music while the other whistles Christmas songs. I might just go put that emergency bottle of wine in the fridge.

Yes, it is vacation. Expect some level of sanity in a few days.

i am a bit over the award and meme thing myself. i thought by the time they got to teenagers they had learnt about consequences and would no longer need to be confined to bedrooms :) oh my what a long fight ive got ahead of me.

Don’t want to sound dumb, but what is a memes? or – what are memes? I thought I knew everything. I am really sad to see I don’t.

I have been stitching! Just want you to know that…
